Srinagar, Aug 30 (KNO) : Showing their readiness to fight against all moves aimed at scraping the article 35 A, people across the Jawahar tunnel observed a complete shutdown on the call of Joint Resistance Leadership (JRL) comprising Syed Ali Geelani, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq and Muhammad Yasin Malik.

The commercial hub of Lal Chowk wore a deserted look as only a few forces vehicles could be spotted plying on the roads. Strike was observed in total in all the districts of Kashmir and as per reports, there was total bandh in Kargil district of Ladakh region. Chenab Valley comprising Rajouri, Poonch, Bhaderwah and Doda also joined in the strike showing their commitment towards protecting the article 35 A.

Industrialists from Khonmoh staged a peaceful demo at Lal Chowk. Downtown Srinagar, remained caged as forces enforced tough curbs while as all the main roads were blocked with the reams of concertina wires. The case about Article 35 A is coming up for a hearing before the Supreme Court tomorrow and the JRL has asked people to be mentally ready for mass agitation if any adverse decision comes.
